Note about Electronic Publishing and Advertising

It is considered by me as a brilliant idea that founding an electronic magazine. One obvious problem, I think for now, is the way to gain some revenue to maintain the project especially in the initial era. I am not comparatively good at business thinking hence this issue made me anxious. In my opinion, most online-based business accompanies may confront this sometimes due to the circumstance there is a descending trend of direct charging for material and immaterial commence. For the media industry including magazine this is severe as well for new companies. 'With so much information available for free, it is difficult to get readers to pay for a subscription...' (Holmes, 2000), this might only be probably figured out by some creative and unique ways. When comes to advertising, something unique, time-limit, and hiding desire not obvious in normal life is better to be represented. (ibid)

One thing is often difficult is how to find out the requirement that is sparsely observed in normal times. Even most intelligent strategy maker might find few valuable opportunities without luck. Meanwhile, there could be some sparking chances ignored by everyone till someone captures occasionally.
It was reported by BBC (2014) a 23 years old gentleman earns considerable money by just playing video games and upload the videos about his playing. Joseph Garrett, the protagonist of this case, earns wage from advertisements in his Youtube channel. That is to say, the more subscription and watching he get, the more he obtains. Stated by him, about 10 000 subscribes can supply one person as a minimum wage. And through picking up a small share of the advertising revenue, those huge numbers could well make the graduate a fortune - without ever leaving his bedroom.'(ibid). The commercial chances could be anywhere and since the tremendous commercial potential of advertisements, it would be critical to capture some advertisement collaboration with enterprises as soon as possible.

New Plan

If there was sufficient time except making Quenching Blue, I might make another simple animation without a story representing a segment of traditional Chinese culture.

Some Videos Really Inspiring to Me

Thought of You from Ryan J Woodward on Vimeo.

The Animation Thought of You is a remarkable piece of work involving not merely a drawing rendering of dancing but also splendid imagination communicating body movements and other elements with simple grey gradient background and black-and-white sketching lines. This shot animation represented profound comprehension of dancing emotion, essential ability of drawing and, of course, fabulous animating capacity.

Wishes 2014 from Skill Lab on Vimeo.

Wishes 2014 is another talented animation. It cannot be denied the commercial ingredient is filled in however it looks adorable.

Douce Menace from margaux vaxelaire on Vimeo.

This surreal work seems to be independent-finished with surprising moments relevant one to each other. Additionally the details in the background especially on buildings are fabulous. One thing can be sure is the producer was drastic brave and creative.
As a commercial product, one of the most significant sections of creating our planning magazine New Designers is investigation. Due to the essential orienting to the fresh designers, students and relative companies, it has become crucial that asking the possible costumers directly. That is to say, some interview is required.

What we did was interviewing three design students and one video game company. Some precious information were captured we experienced a nice time. We interviewed three classmates in the discipline of International Fashion Management heretofore. Maybe some more would be practiced in future. Of course it was not a top level camera. Contrarily, the collaboration  went so well that made us akin to experts.

During the interview of us was Hannah, Melanie, and Candy, it was shown that the state of self-employment was a preference. 'But, I think... because it's such an expensive thing to do. I would want probably have a job and gain some experience first.' Said Hannah. Additionally they implied that the employment situation for designers now could not be positive considering more and more people are attempting to enter this domain.

Subsequently we asked some questions to a creative local company in Huddersfield named Running in the Halls which did a game activity on a building wall that broke. It can be found that the energy exists in the atmosphere of their studio. It might acting more impetus than many bigger companies, in my opinion. In addition they gave similar concern to the employment condition as interviewed classmates.

After all, this interview activity is partly an experiment. There would be more business investigation in the future.
